Union Hotel Geiranger - a Prominent Hotel of the Fjords
Union Hotel Geiranger is something as rare in our time as a 100% family-run hotel. The current hosts represent the third and fourth generations since the Mjelva family took over in 1897. At that time, several of the hotel?s guests were European royalty, and even today, they occasionally delight us with their presence. The "Union atmosphere" is a concept we have created as a family-run hotel over the generations, together with our staff. And our guests return time after time because of these values. Union Hotel Geiranger has several room categories, from well-equipped standard rooms to distinguished suites. We believe it is important for our guests to enjoy a feeling of space.
The journey to Geiranger has, in itself, been a magnet for visitors for more than 100 years. The incredible road over the mountain opened in 1889. Together with the mighty fjord, the road opened up new perspectives, in a double sense of the word, and paved the way for the investment in tourism of which Union Hotel Geiranger has played an important part since 1891. The journey here is still just as breathtaking, but much quicker and simpler, of course.
